Blackshear is a learning community focused on high expectations for student success.
Family History:
Whereas, William Blackshear was a pioneer in the development of the Klein community following his emigration in the year 1864, and traveling to North Harris County and settling in the Klein area; and
Whereas, William Blackshear was the first Postmaster of the Klein, Texas Post Office established on September 8, 1884; and
Whereas members of the Board of Trustees deem it a privilege to recognize families which have always supported the school, community, and nation;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, That in honor of the original Blackshear Family members and their descendants, the elementary school located at this site is hereby designated the Blackshear Elementary School
